Saxophonist Manohari Singh is no more

India based Nepalese musician Manohari Singh died at 83 in Mumbai this Tuesday (July 13th, 2010). He has long been suffering from Liver diseases.

Time magazine had awarded Manohari as the “Best Asian Sexophonist” in 80s. Manohari hailed initially from Mataar, Lalitpur. He had contributed lots to the Bollywood industry – which gained him the Great Indian award “Dada Saheb Falke”.

Manohari is the first Nepali citizen to get Dada Saheb Falke award. He has also worked in Kanyadan and few other Nepali movies as well.

Manohari Singh worked as Chief Arranger with Musician R D Burman during till the age. Other musicians include Laxmikant Parallel, Shankar Jayakisan, C Ramchandra, Madanmohan, Roshan.
